NO DEDUCTIBLE, NO COPAY….WHAT YOU TALKIN ‘BOUT WILLIS

Costa Rica Cost of Living Update:                                        Full health insurance coverage, no deductible, no copay, no pre-existing condition, in a country whose health care quality is ranked higher than the United States by the World Health Organization- $50/month (and it comes with a pension)

One of the first questions people ask me is about the health care system in Costa Rica.  Here, everyone pitches in and pays for a socialized health care plan.  They believe that everyone has the right to see a doctor without the fear of going bankrupt.  I’ve met plenty of people who have used the health care services and are very impressed with the outcome.

Somehow they accomplished all this without death panels or anyone trying to put a contract out on  grandma.
