CURIOUS GEORGE

Costa Rica Cost of Living Update:        Prepaid cell phone card for two months of service- $5

He’s for real.  I’ve found Curious George scampering across my property.  He’s not actually a monkey, but my favorite of all animals…a kinkajou.

I love his little padded feet and his thick furry tail. I just want to hug him and pet him and squeeze him and call him George. (It’s amazing I can remember a line from a Bugs Bunny cartoon 30 years ago but can’t seem to recall my anniversary.)

I think you have to try to be unhappy here. Really put all you got into it.  Because whenever I start to feel down, something like this happens, and all the world seems right again.

My substitute for “George” are the ancient old women dressed in black strolling the village keeping and eye on things. They look fierce until you throw a happy “Bom Tarde” are them, then they break into huge glowing smiles. I love my mulhers in black.

Love it!! It’s such a wonderful feeling being in a different place, everything looks so exotic. It make me feel like a kid again!

I have a question with I’m hoping you can point me in a direction.
My parents live in Costa Rica (in Turrialba). They swear that if I call them on a cell phone that they have to pay for the call as well. If I call on a land line, then they do not have to do so.
This means that I have to have a land line just for calling them.

Do you know if this is correct?

    Thanks

That’s a good question. I believe you need to have a landline to call. But I am not 100% sure. So many changes here with the cell plans, I can’t keep track what is going on. I don’t think I get charged on my cell phone if my parents call me from their landline.

Sorry I couldn’t help more. If I can find out any more info I will email you.

      Thanks for visiting my blog.

I think I am somehow connected to this animal. Never knew he existed before moving here. Just want to pick him up and hug him.
